Is this a practical joke?

I'm beginning to think that this is a practical joke that I've not been made aware of.

SERVICE REQUESTED:
Mice in Bldg walls & in the Basement.

Um, really? I recall mentioning the attic/ceiling and the walls. Did I mention anything about the basement? What about the hole in the kitchen wall? You know, this one:

Mouse Hotel

I'm thinking that I'll need to write all this down in a nice letter and print it up with a photo (at least 8x10") of the hole-in-the-wall.

WORK PERFORMED:
Placed (2) stations in the basement area today for rodent aqtivity.

They did have the work phone number written on the sheet, but I haven't received a call from anyone as of yet.

Running Water

I placed a call to the service department again on my way to the office (7:30AM). The water has been running in the apartment below ours (likely the bathroom sink) and we've been hearing it all last night into this morning. I'm also waiting for a call back on the previous issue and left the work number again.

Crossed signals

Apparently we've gotten our signals crossed with the folks in the service department;

WORK PERFORMED:
Placed (1) station under kit. sink w/ trap to monitor and (1) board up under stove. A bit cluttered and has cat.

I called when I got home to inform them that I think we had a little miscommunication. The mice are in the ceiling and walls. We don't have the mice in the apartment. The cats were kind enough to catch the mouse that did venture in and pointed out the hole in the drywall from where it came. I provided my number at work to call and talk to me if they wish.

I've not heard any noises the last few days, so perhaps that was the only mouse left over our apartment. We'll find out in the weeks to come.

Dead Mouse

Well, this morning I woke to a dead mouse, killed by one of the cats, on the dining room floor.

After removing the mouse and calling maintenance about the problem, we located the entrance from which the mouse entered the apartment.

We managed to put everything together at that point. The cats had been watching the kitchen every night for the last couple of months, so there has been something going on there for at least that long. We've been hearing noises in the ceiling for more than a year now, and attributed them to squirrels on the roof or echos through the walls from other apartments. We'll find out soon where things go from here.
