Determination to stay or move

Our lease is nearing its conclusion and we've been struggling with the decision to stay or move. We have decided that the current offer (rent prices stayed with a single credit of $300), which represents about a 10% increase since natural gas is no longer included, does not justify our continued patronage. I visited the Leasing Office this morning to discuss this with them and unfortunately they are unable to discuss the renewals. At least I was able to get the 30 Day Move-out Notice form from them.
I feel sorry for those looking to move in though. Not only was the Leasing Office understaffed (2 of the usual 4 people, and I was waiting more than 30 minutes as next person in line), but the management seems to be pulling promotions out of a hat that morning. I've heard this complaint from a few of the new neighbors, but this had been the first time I really apprieciated the state of the problem. Most asuredly, I would have likely signed with our second choice had that been the case when we were looking at this apartment.
